Eli with the Camera
Eli likes to take pictures almost as much as I do. I love to see his pictures because it shows me how he sees things and what is picture-worthy to him.

8th Wedding Anniversary!
Today is our 8th anniversary. We didn't get to celebrate it because Alison was born today. There are very few good reasons to not celebrate an anniversary, and I guess the birth of a new family member is one of them! Shelby and Eli were at the hospital for most of the day. I was working so I stopped by for a couple hours in the afternoon and had to go back to work. I came back later that evening once Alison was born. I'm hoping we'll find time this weekend to celebrate.
Shelby - I just can't believe how blessed I am. If I made one good decision in my life, it was marrying you. I love being with you...even if we're just hanging out, watching TV, or whatever...I just feel better when we're together. I look forward to growing old with you and always having you by my side. I love you.

In several of the pictures that I took, Alison was looking right into Sara's eyes. It's unbelievable how they are naturally drawn to their mommy's face. |

Eli was at the hospital for several hours and he was so good! Thank you Eli for being such a good boy. I'm so proud of you. |

Cody's 18th Birthday
Cody came over tonight to have dinner and to celebrate his 18th birthday. We ended up grilling out (probably for the last time until Spring). He brought Amanda with him. Eli was so excited to see Cody...he loves being around him. Of course, Eli was being silly and was the life of the party. None of us could stop laughing at him.
I picked up a cheesecake right before they came over. When I pulled it out of the refrigerator to put the candles on, I realized that it was frozen solid! It took Cody a while but he was finally able to cut into it. It had the consistency of ice cream, but it was still good. It's nearly impossible to ruin a cheesecake.

Putting up the Christmas Tree
Cody and Amanda came over to celebrate his 18th birthday and to put up the Christmas tree.
Eli took the rest of the pictures below. He loves taking pictures and says he want to be a photographer when he grows up.
Eli and Pa
Shelby and I had a date night last night. We dropped off Eli at Mom and Dad's. After showing us all of his ninja and fighting moves, he climbed up on Pa's lap and rested. I have to say that I've only seen anything like that a couple of times. It's very rare that Eli tires except for after several hours of activity. He stayed on Pa's lap for a long time and was still there when we left! I'm sure he got his second wind soon after we left.
Fat Chinese Kid
A few years ago, I was looking at some old pictures of the Gantenberg's. I saw one of a baby and asked who's the fat Chinese kid? It was Sara. A couple of days ago, Sara had an ultrasound of Allison. She said that based on these pictures, we may have another fat Chinese kid in the family.
I think she's right.

Basketball Showdown
Shelby, Eli, and I went to Pioneer Park today to play some basketball. Today is supposed to be the last warm day for a while, so we took advantage of it. It's the second week in November and 70 degrees.

Sara's 30th Birthday!*
We celebrated Sara's 30th birthday today...and when I say "we", I mean everyone except me. I had planned something with some people from work before I knew when Sara's birthday dinner would be. I would rather have gone to the birthday party. From the looks of the pictures, I would say Eli had control of the camera for most of the night.
Eli was so excited about Cody being there. Earlier in the day he said, "If Cody doesn't go to Sara's birthday I'm going to be very mad at him, because I really want to see him."

*It's really her 32nd birthday. :-)
