Tortured Monkey

Shelby found this under a blanket on the couch tonight after Eli went to bed.  The monkey has a pair of pliers clamped around his neck.  That's scary enough...but the fact that it was hidden under the covers and that Eli never said a word about it is even more scary. 
Should we be worried?
