The Jones' Shooting Hoops

The Jones boys (and Shelby) went to Pioneer park yesterday to shoot some hoops.  Once we got there and started shooting, I realized that it was just way too freaking cold to be outside.  We only stayed for 45 minutes or so, but it was fun while it lasted.  I can't wait until it gets warmer so we can play some more.

Eli's Photo Shoot in Latonia

We were all bored the other day after I got home from work.  I felt like taking some pictures, so we talked Eli into modeling for me.  We just started driving around looking for a good place for pictures.  Eli kept saying he wanted to go where there was "brick walls and stuff like Cody's pictures".  He was talking about the pictures I took for Cody's senior pictures a couple of years ago.  I know there are several small churches in Latonia, so we headed that way.  We came across a really cool church...I can't remember the name of it now, of course.

Bustin' Some Caps!

We went over to the Stavermans' this past Sunday.  We hung out for a while and then ate dinner while the kids were running around the house like little crazy people.  After that, we went outside to do some shooting.  Shelby was excited about it.  Shelby, Shane, and I were shooting at some targets that Shane had set up in the yard.  After that, we got out Malachi's BB gun for Eli to shoot.  He did great for his first time, and he loved it.

Boy's Day!

Well, even though the weather was terrible, today was another awesome Boy's Day with me and Eli. I'm hoping Cody will start coming with us on Boy's Days, too.
Once again, we started at Toys R Us. We usually walk around there looking at and trying out toys for about an hour. Today, he picked out what he wanted within the first 15 minutes and then he was ready to get out of there. I didn't want to turn Boy's Day into Daddy-is-going-to-buy-me-a-toy-today day, and I was determined to get him a book, if anything. Ummm, here's how well that worked...

After Toys R Us, we went to Half Price Books (hey, Boy's Day is about BOTH of us). Then we went to Smokey Bones. I know that going there is, and always has been a big part of Boy's Day, but everytime we go there, I like it less and less. The food and the service is just OK, and seems to be getting worse with each visit. It's going to be a tough conversation with Eli to get him to agree to making a change. We'll see how that goes.

From Smokey Bones, we went to Kohl's to get both of us a new shirt. We found one for him, but I didn't find anything. He loves his new shirt. He put it on as soon as we got home, and is sleeping in it as I type this. And, he has already asked me if I could wash it first thing in the morning so that he can wear it tomorrow, too. He also wore his new hat today. He's been asking for a new hat for a couple of weeks, and Shelby got him one a few days ago. It's a black Fedora. He has barely taken it off since he's had it. I love that he's not afraid to be different. He gets several compliments on it every time he wears it.

I can't wait until the next Boy's Day! Hopefully, Cody can come with us.
