Boy's Day! Woo Hoo!!

Another awesome boy's day for the Jones boys.  We headed to Kroger (of course jammin to T-Bone on the way) so Eli could dump his change into the Coinstar machine to get some cold, hard cash.
Most boy's days start at Toys R Us and this one was no different.

Then we go to Izzy's to grab some lunch.  This was Eli's first time at Izzy's.  Since Starbucks was right next door, we didn't have a choice but to head on over there for some hot chocolate.  We sat in Starbucks for almost an hour.  He played with some Legos, we downed our hot chocolate and just hung out and talked for a while.

Next stop, Kohls.  This kid absolutely loves looking for clothes and trying them on.
Another successful boy's day in the books!  I love you Eli.

Yet Another Boy's Day!!

Picking out his game.
We just can't have enough of these.  I just hope he still wants to have them when he gets older.

So, this is how the day went down:

  • First stop, Game Stop to pick up Lego Pirates of the Caribbean for the DS.
  • Then to the Florence Mall for some grub at Quizno's.
  • Next, it's back to Erlanger for a 3.75 mile bike ride.  On the ride, just out of nowhere, he says, "I love going bike riding with you, Daddy."
  • We then ride our bikes to the library and he borrows Lego Indiana Jones for the Xbox 360.
  • Then we finish the day at McDonald's

Goofing off at McDonald's after our ride.

I love this kid, and I love having boy's day with him.

Staverman Boy's Birthday Party

Shane took everyone for a ride on his tractor and trailer.
 Man, he's cute!
Eli wasn't sure he wanted to be on there.
Of course, with Shane driving, who would??
 My buddy.

Festival at the Train Park - Erlanger, KY

There was a little festival at the Train Park in Erlanger, KY, which was a 5 minute walk from the house that we'll be moving into in a few days.  Eli and Brendon had a great time.  They got to touch several different animals and then had their faces painted.
The lady who painted Eli's face was definitely a rookie, but he didn't seem to care.

New Bike from Nana

Nana bought Eli a new bike today from Walmart.  I got off work early to meet Shelby and Eli at the store.  I love seeing him get to excited about things like this.

Dresser

I wish I was half as talented and creative as Shelby.  She is always finding ways to make things better and usable.  This dresser only took her a day to do.  Here is the before picture: (of course, Eli had to get his mug in there)...

And the after:

Boy's Day

We started out this Boy's day going to Kroger to put Eli's coins into the machine that counts it and magically turns it into cold hard cash.  From there we headed to Toys R Us to pick up Batman for the DS (and try on helmets).

If that's not enough to make a couple of guys hungry, I don't know what is...so off we go to Red Robin for lunch.

It was so hot today that it was almost unbearable to sit in the car while the AC cranked up.  It was actually kind of hard to breath.  At one point, Eli said, "Daddy, I can't smell."  I love that kid.

Our next stop was Lowes to get a filter for the furnace (and to try out several riding mowers, of course).

We didn't eat dessert at Red Robin on purpose.  The plan was to grab a couple of hot fudge cakes at Big Boy in Independence, which is what we did next.
We stopped to wash the car on the way home...of course spraying each other in the process.

Another successful Boy's day in the books!
