Homeschooling Eli

Since I'm off work all this week, I was able to help with homeschooling Eli yesterday. It was way more fun than I anticipated; I actually enjoyed it! I don't know that I would have the patience to do it every day, but it was great seeing Eli learn...and actually enjoy learning. I went off course a couple of times compared to how Shelby does it, and he set me straight. These pictures are from today:

Miniature clay pots and scrolls that Shelby and Eli made last week.

A Year Ago Today - August 31, 2009

A year ago today, Shelby, Eli, and I drove to the river in Newport so we could take a walk across the John A. Roebling suspension bridge and check out the sights.

Eli and Austin played guns and then football today...true Kentuckians.

Blue Lick State Park - Battle of 1782 Reenactment

We thought this battle reenactment would be fun for Eli to see (and a good excuse to take pictures for me).  Well, we got there a little late, so we just walked around checking out the booths and the museum for a little while.

Me: "Eli, look at that very old, huge tusk!"  Eli:  "I have a Ben Ten watch."
